The Alabama Crimson Tide reign supreme in college football and have captured the 2009 National Championship! This team-issued graphic tee was designed to commemorate the occasion and highlight the coveted crystal trophy that is given to the winning team. I wanted to create something that broke from our "event tee" cadence and also celebrated our partnership with the American Football Coaches Association.
The game was played at the Rose bowl, which led me to dive deep into Southern California tattoo art and car culture. The location-specific aesthetic reveals itself within this design. Printed with premium in mind, a mix of techniques include clear foil, reflective and pearlized inks. This compelling design brings the crystal trophy to life!

The licensed world can feel limiting due to the multiple approvals needed to bring a product to life, but I truly enjoyed finding ways to work within those guidelines, diving deep into the research aspect of a project to formulate authentic, impactful narratives and bespoke designs.
Here's an illustration idea for UGA that had been rattling around in my head for a while, so I finally brought it to life. Inspired by Powell Peralta's Bones Brigade designs in the late 80's, primarily the legendary Hawk Skull skate deck design by VCJ, the Bulldog skull provided another iconic form to work with.
By adding the crossbones I was able to highlight the pre-2016 tradition of helmet sticker rewards at UGA, where white bone decals represented on-field athletic achievements and black bones touted academic success. This is NOT an officially licensed design and it is NOT affiliated with Nike or the University of Georgia.
