Oregon Uniform Redesign (2008-2011)

The original wing graphics were inspired by the skeletal structure of a duck's wing. These bold shoulder icons served the dual purpose of abrasion resistance and irreverence. When paired with a streamlined "Belotti Bold" number set, this first "winged" uniform redefined the look of modern sport.

In lieu of player-specific nameplates, every athlete is adorned with "Salute The Day", reinforcing the team's commitment to the local Oregon troops. At the end of the game Oregon football players and active-duty military meet at the center of the field where game jerseys are presented to the troops individually.

This inner back neck embroidery displays a hidden message for the players. "Alis Volat Propriis" is the Oregon state motto in Latin. Translating to "She Flys With Her Own Wings", this mantra captures the independent/innovative spirit inherent in Oregon's DNA.
